Pause.

sometimes, just take a break.

Long time no blog ey. I’ll save you the details and I’ll just exhale and try not to scream (well caps locks) that I am officially DONE with university. I have FINISHED! I’ll be penning a bumper post on well.. how it feels to have finished seven years of architorture, I mean architecture. What have I been doing with my few days of freedom? Absolutely nothing my friends. I have slept, I have eaten, I have checked my professional e-mail for potential architecture jobs and I’ve just enjoyed not *having* to do anything.

There is an importance to simply putting life on pause, and not feeling guilty about it. The days leading up to my final exhibition could not have been more awful, and the days ensuing, even worse (I’ll talk about what happened in another blog post) so after everything I decided to cocoon. I slept in, didn’t shower, ate whatever I wanted to and just fully allowed myself to mong out and relax, and I think I did this for about three days before I felt ‘normal’ again.  Overloading ourselves is not healthy, and there is this culture amongst ourselves as ‘millennials’ that we should always be working and grinding and suffering to get to where we want to be in life, and whilst I agree that one should most definitely put in the hours and hard work to achieve the successes one desires, I can’t help but think that a good balance is absolutely key. Work hard and play hard my friends, do not burn yourselves out. Let’s start working smart and not too hard, after all life is short.

Ah congratulations!! I can totally relate. I've prob had like 9 years of school. You deserve the break doing absolutely nothing, because right after this, those breaks are hard to come by! And I hope you get wonderful job emails in your inbox. Those make it all worth itwww.KacheeTee.com
